Popeye is from the midwest

Well, we went to Illinois today to see our midwife. The baby and mommy are doing great! Heart beat is strong, can feel the growth of the baby since last appointment, and can see growth in mommy. This is good growth!!

We also stopped in front of the statue of Popeye. It is in Chester, Illinois, which is right on the Mississippi River. This is where the man who brought us Popeye is from. His name is Elzie Segar. Popeye was modelled after a local "scrapper", that is, a boxer who never went pro. Also, the character "Whimpie" is likened from the man who fronted Segar the money for the idea of his Popeye cartoon.

Missouri is growing on me. We've decided to stay.
