best playoff system: The World Cup. Round Robin in the first round alone makes this the raddest tournament ever.
most competitive matches: NCAA Basketball. Tremendous format that doesn't exhaust us with an interminable season (like some games played on ice), honors conference play yet mixes up the conferences come tourney time, and always has tremendous upsets and overtime games.
best trophy: Stanley Cup. They have to compensate for a brutally boring season and game for that matter. :)
