Your Father's Approval
"Fathers, do not exasperate your children." Eph 6:4
A very close friend recently brought up the idea of getting your (my) father's approval in life.
I have thought about this some, and I think that exasperating is the opposite of approval; so, if you don't have the approval of your dad, you may feel exasperated. I have seen examples of this in the many people I have known. It is unfortunate that the lack of approval in general affects us so adversely...but the lack of your father's approval can be devastating. It can take a lifetime to overcome.
I am happy to say that I know I have received my dad's stamp of approval as a person, a man, a son. That is not to boast in myself--because that approval was his doing, not mine. I am stating it because I realize how positively that has affected my life. I am blessed to have a good father.
Thank you, Dad. I love you.
